*Akiko uses a special process that creates ten times the normal thickness of
18 carat gold over a solid stering silver base. The finish is both durable and exquisite.

 

ABOUT the Artist

Akiko moved to New York City from Japan to pursue her dream of becoming a jewelry designer. She studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Parsons School of Design, where she obtained a degree majoring in metal, product design. She has been largely inspired by renowned jewelry designers Robert Lee Morris and Ted Muhling, Morris Gali of Harry Winston and Tiffany Co., and John Cogswell, for whom she apprenticed.

Since 1997, she has been handcrafting exquisite one of kind pieces for clients. Boutiques, jewelry stores, galleries and museum shops across New York City and London display and sell her work.

Akiko’s inspiration comes from life. She transforms the energy, excitement and love of life she feels into new and beautiful creations - this is her greatest reward.

Residing in New York City, with a studio in the industrial neighborhood of
Red Hook, Brooklyn. Akiko explores many different stylistic directions.
She designed her forthcoming line to be worn by either men or women.
